CASE'S TESTED XX 5171L Stag Lever Vintage Automatic knife

Vintage CASE'S TESTED XX 5171L Stag Lever automatic knife made by WR CASE & SONS of Bradford PA sometime between 1920 and early 1940s. This is the larger of the two Lever release switchblades sold by the company measuring 5 3/8 inches closed and 9 3/8 inches open with nickel silver liners, bolsters, lever & pins. The Saber Grind swedge blade is 98% Full or better with light patina, scratches and a little peppering and the grind lines are not crisp, so it has been cleaned at some point a long time ago. The tang is stamped CASE'S TESTED XX and the backside is stamped TESTED XX over 5171L. The genuine stag scales are very dark in color and are in excellent condition with no cracks. The bottom front bolster is stamped CASE'S TESTED XX. The knife works great with blade tip deep and centered in the well closed, good snap and excellent lockup open with less than 1/16" movement at the tip open that springs back when you let go. Does not rattle if shaken with the blade open as most of these do (except for the lever). EX condition.
