Vintage CASE 61215 1/2 pattern hunter switchblade knife made under contract for WR CASE & Sons by the Geo Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1938 and 1943. It measures 5 inches closed and just under 8 3/4" open with steel liners, bolsters & button and nickel silver safety cap. The blade is Nearly full and shiny with some very light pitting on the back of the blade and is marked long tail CASE stamp on the front and 61215 1/2 on the back of the tang. The jigged bone scales are light in color and in great condition. Looks like there could be a couple of small bone repairs on the back scale, but might not be either. Looks very good. The knife works well with blade tip seating deep and centered, good snap and good lockup with less than 1/16" movement either way. It does rattle if shaken with blade open as many of these old hunters do. Still has original Copper Beryllium spring. Safety works. EX- condition.
