C JUL HERBERTZ 22cm 1960s Italian Trapdoor OTF Pearlex switchblade knife

Vintage New Old Stock 1960s C Jul Herbertz 22cm Italian trapdoor switchblade knife. This knife is part of a group of vintage trapdoors that was found in an old workshop in Italy a few years ago. These switchblades have been very rare in the collecting community over the past 50 years so this find will give the opportunity to many collectors to own one of these knives who would likely never have had that opportunity before. This knife had broken scales (handles) so they were professionally replaced with Gorgeous Pearlex. The knife measures 21.2cm (8.25 inches) open with chrome plated brass bolsters, button and safety cap. The flat swedge grind blade is 100% full with original finish and some light scratches and it stamped C JUL HERBERTZ over IMPORT on the ricasso and the backside is stamped PATENT ROSTFREI. The replacement Pearlex scales are in excellent condition with Red Dot safety. The knife functions great with the blade opening fully when the button is pressed. Press the button again to release the blade from locked open position to be closed and cocked into firing position with the hinged trapdoor. Some of the chrome finish is missing near the bottom/back of the knife as you can see in the pics. Doesn't take much away from this Beautiful knife! Safety works. EX+ condition.
