This is a Bullfighter lever knife made in Japan for the Mexican tourist trade in the 1960s and the 1970s. These were very popular with tourists and were made in three different sizes with different blade shapes, different colors and some variations on the scenes and other differences and are a lot of fun to collect. This knife is the most common size measuring 19cm (7 3/8 inches) open with steel liners and unusual nickel silver bolsters & lever. White background with gold dragon on the front and bullfighter/ Matador scene on the back under clear acrylic. The scales are in fair condition with one piece of clear acrylic missing on the front scale along the spine. The flat grind spear swedge blade is nearly full and shiny with original factory finish is marked Rostfrei. The knife works well with the blade tip even with the liners closed, opens strong and locks up tight. Overall a nice example of a very cool vintage later production white Mexican souvenir automatic lever knife.
