This is a Bullfighter lever knife made in Japan for the Mexican tourist trade between the late 1950s and into the 1970s. These were very popular with tourists and were made in three different sizes with different blade shapes, different colors and some variations on the scenes. A lot of fun to collect. This knife is the most common size measuring 19cm (7.25 inches) open with steel liners and brass bolsters, lever and lanyard ring. This knife is kind of unusual in that the front has the Blue/green background Siesta scene and the back is Red background with pink Roses and Gold Bull and Matador scene on the back. Also says JUAREZ MEXICO above the matador. The flat grind clip blade is shiny, approximately 94% full & is marked HIGH CLASS. The knife works well with the blade tip below the liners closed, opens strong and locks up tight. Overall a nice example of a less-common vintage Juarez Siesta Mexican souvenir automatic lever knife. This one could be easily cleaned up to look amazing!
