BOWIE KNIFE NEWARK NJ Vintage Fishtail cross hatch 1940s automatic knife USA made in New Jersey before 1950. The knife measures 3 15/16 inches closed and 7 1/16 inches open with brass liners, steel button and nickel silver safety and one brass pin. The clip blade is 98% full, or better with light patina, light scratches and a little spotting. The synthetic scales have checkering and are butterscotch & brown in color and in excellent condition. The knife works well with blade tip well below liners closed, opens fully and average lockup with about 3/16" up and down and a little side to side at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
