Vintage B.T.FS INOX Lizard 16cm Italian Lockback Skunk automatic knife made in the 1960s or 70s in Italy for export to France. These are not very common knives in this style and size and the Lizard stamp was used by Tarry Levigne French importer. The knife measures 15.7cm (6 3/16 inches) open with D stamped brass liners and nickel silver button and safety cap. The flat swedge blade is 98% full, or better with light patina and light scratches and the ricasso is stamped B.T.FS with the picture of a lizard (gecko) and the reverse is stamped INOX. The genuine buffalo horn scales are mostly black sides & white middle, often referred to as "skunk" with a little cream swirled in an din very nice condition. The knife works well with the blade tip just above the liners closed, opens strong and good lockup with less than 1/8" up and down at the tip. This is a lockback so you press the backspring in the half moon cutout to release the blade to be closed. Barely rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety does not work. VG condition.
