Antique Flylock Letter Opener Etched advertising giveaway Blue Marble celluloid automatic switchblade office tool/knife made in the 1920s made by the Flylock Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT and was designated the model # 1122LO. It measures 10.75 inches with the blade open and just over 8.75 inches when it's closed with brass liners and nickel silver button. The blade is 100% full original finish and a a nice advertising etch that reads: COMPLIMENTS OF FRED SALZGEBER COAL & BUILDERS MATERIAL. Blade is stamped Flylock REG US PAT OFF on the front and FLYLOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN on the rear tang. The Blue Marble swirl celluloid synthetic scales are GORGEOUS and in excellent condition with just some minor scuffs from handling. Works well with blade tip deep & centered closed, good snap and very good lockup with less than 1/16" movement at the tip. Barely rattles if shaken when open. These old letter opener switchblades are fun to collect and display well. Good working example of a 100 year old switchblade letter opener knife. EX+ condition.
