Nice old Flylock Hunter with Lazy W folding guards. This knife was made in Bridgeport, CT in the 1920s and is the largest size switchblade made by the Flylock Knife Co. It was designated the model #11004 and measures 4 7/8" closed and 8.75 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters and guards. The blade is 97% full and shiny and is stamped Flylock REG US PAT OFF US PAT 3-5-18 on the front tang and FLYLOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN on the rear. The black jigged synthetic scales (handles) are in excellent condition with no cracks. The front scale has a bit of a green hue to it and the back scale is more vivid black, which I've seen on others and believe it to be a difference in the batch of scale material where the front scales were made from one batch and the rear scales from another batch. Not terribly noticeable, but interesting information for collectors. This knife works Great with the blade tip seating deep and centered, good snap and fair lockup with some movement each way and rattles if shaken when open as most of these do after 100 years. ;^) EX+ condition. Very nice example of an antique American folding guard switchblade.
