Vintage Russian RPK (Russian Prison Knife) switchblade. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons between the mid 1940s into the 70s, to be sold and given as gifts, or bribes by the guards. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 20.5cm (8 inches) open with a steel frame. The modified clip hollow ground blade is full and shiny. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and Super tight lockup when open. I'm not sure what the scale (handle) material is, but it's brown and in very good condition. Nice engraving on the bolsters. The blade is activated by sliding the button down toward the bottom (back) of the knife. Beautiful Tight knife, as nice as the day it was made over 50 years ago. EX+ condition.
