Remington R8063 Bone Double Vintage Automatic knife
Remington R8063 Bone Double Vintage Automatic knife
Vintage Remington R8063 double switchblade made under contract for Remington by the Geo Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT between 1938 and 1944. The knife measures 3 3/8 inches closed and 7 1/8 inches with both blades open and it has brass liners and nickel silver buttons and safeties. Both blades are stamped Remington on the front tang and R8063 on the back of the large blade. No sign of the Remington Master Knife etch that was most likely on the blade when new, but very nice blades. The scales are jigged bone and Wonderful condition. The knife works well with both blade tips below liners closed, strong Copper Beryllium original spring and both blades lock open. Large blade has a little kickback and small blade has drag about halfway open so you have to push it into full open position (can be adjusted). Small blade has excellent lockup and large blade is a little loose and has some movement both ways and rattles if shaken when open. Both safeties work. EX+ condition.
