Vintage Snappy keychain switchblade knife made by the Colonial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the early 1950s. You can tell it's an early one by the small domed button and bolsters and I refer to these small button Snappys with bolsters as 2nd generation knives made between 1950 and 1955. The knife measures 2.5 inches closed and 4 3/8 inches open with brass liners, steel button and safety. The saber ground clip blade is clearly stamped SNAPPY COLONIAL PROV USA and it was designated the model #1600CB. The PROV is missing from the stamp because it was lost when they cut in the locking groove. The blade is 100% full and retains all of the original factory finish. The Rootbeer colored synthetic scales are in excellent condition with minimal shrinkage. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep, good snap and great lock up with just a hint of movement at the tip. Safety works. Near Mint condition.
