This is an early Schrade Cut Co small double, pattern number 7444K that measures 2 7/8 closed and 5 7/8 inches open with brass liners. Made by the Schrade Walden Co of Walden, NY some between 1916 and 1946. Main blade stamped Schrade Cut Co Walden, NY and the small pen blade is marked with three patent dates, 1909, 10 & 16. The knife is in VG+ condition with mostly full blades with some light scratches. The Butter & Molasses (brown lined cream) celluloid scales are in nice condition with no cracks. The knife works well with both blade tips seating well closed, open fully and good lockup on bigger blade. The small blade doesn't lock open, but you'd never know it unless you push on it when open. Nice old gentleman's double.
