Edgemaster Fishtail Grey swirl 1940s Vintage American switchblade knife
Edgemaster Fishtail Grey swirl 1940s Vintage American switchblade knife
Edgemaster fishtail with Gray swirl synthetic scales made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 40s, or early 1950s. This knife was designated the model #301 and measures 4 inches closed and 7 1/16" open with brass liners, steel button and nickel silver safety. The blade is nearly full and shiny and has been lightly cleaned leaving lots of light scratches and some pitting, especially on the tang. Blade is stamped Edgemaster USA. The gray swirl synthetic scales are in good condition with some shrinkage and cracks on both sides at the bottom (back) pins. The knife functions well with blade tip seating deep, good snap and locks open with about 1/8" movement each way. Pretty average and the knife does rattle if shaken when open as most of these old 50s American switchblades do that have been used over the years. The safety works. VG+ condition.
