z Colonial SHUR-SNAP Bowtie White vintage automatic knife

Colonial Knife Co Shur-Snap bowtie switchblade. This is an early generation 3 model made before 1955 in Providence, RI. We can date it by the characteristics of small domed button and bolsters. This knife measures 4 inches closed and 7.25 inches open with brass liners and steel bolsters and button. The saber grind blade is mostly full (97%) and shiny. The scales are white and in very good condition with shrinkage near the bottom on each side as most of these do have over time. The knife works well, tip even with liners closed, good snap and locks open with about 1/4" up and down and some side to side at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety does work. VG- condition.
