Edgemaster fishtail with light blue, red & white swirl synthetic scales made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 40s, or early 1950s. This knife was designated the model #301 and measures 4 inches closed and 7" open with brass liners, steel button and nickel silver safety. The blade is nearly full (98%) and shiny with most of the original factory finish intact and is stamped Edgemaster USA. The attractive blue/white/red swirl synthetic scales are in very good condition with some shrinkage with very colorful back scale. The knife functions good with blade tip about 1/16" above the liners closed, good snap and good lockup with about 1/16" up movement each way at the tip. The knife does NOT rattle if shaken when open as most of these old 50s American switchblades do. Opens best with a firm push of the button as many old automatic knives do. The safety works. EX- condition.
