MADE IN ITALY INOXID PATENT 21cm Italian Swing Guard Red dot automatic knife

Vintage Italian Swinger from the 1960s. Measures 21cm open (8 1/8") with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters, guards, button & safety cap. The blade is 99% full with much of the original factory finish still intact w/ lots of scratches from sharpening and use that could be easily cleaned off. The blade is marked MADE IN ITALY INOXID on the front and PATENT on the back of the tang. This knife has a Red Dot safety and the horn scales are in good condition, but show their age and handling over the years. The front scale is nearly black and the back scale is dark on the edges with some green to cream streaking. The knife works well with the blade tip seating well below the liners when closed, good snap and good lockup with just a little movement. The safety works well, but you do have to push down on the blade a bit to engage it fully. This is a backspring release knife so you have to push down on the tab near the bottom bolsters to close the knife. There is some light rust on the backspring, but not bad. Overall a good honest working example of a 1960s vintage Italian swing guard switchblade.
