Vintage Russian tourist switchblade knife. These knives were made to be souvenirs for visitors to Russia in the 70s. This knife measures 24cm (9 3/8 inches) open with a coined steel liners. The scales are plastic with a hoof on the back and a lanyard ring. I believe that it's supposed to resemble an animal's leg with a pattern and a band with a word in Russian that I believe translates to Tourist. The carbon steel clip blade appears to be full and has some of the original finish with patina, scratches and some pitting with no markings. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth snap and fair lockup when open. There is some movement each way at the tip, but springs back. It is button open backspring release to close. Very cool vintage Russian RPK tourist switchblade.
