This is a nice vintage Italian automatic knife stamped VIRGINIA INOX on the front ricasso (tang) and PATENT MADE IN ITALY on the rear. This style is often stamped Ackermannchen and I don't know of any other name for it, so I'm going with that. As far as I can see the markings are the only difference. The knife measures just under 24cm (9.25 inches) open with brass liners and nickel silver button and safety cap. The flat grind swedge blade appears to be full with the original factory finish and some light scratches. The unusual white synthetic scales are in very nice condition with no cracks and only a little shrinkage. The knife works great with the blade tip sitting deep in the well closed, STRONG snap and Tight lockup open. This is a backspring release knife so you press on a grooved tab that is the only exposed backspring in the wrap around handles. Beautiful old Italian INOX PATENT automatic knife in a harder-to-find color.
