Schrade Cut Co Marine Pearl small double w shackle & file blade

This is an early Schrade Cut Co small double, pattern number F7444MSHAC that measures2 7/8" closed and 6 inches open. It was made by the Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden, NY some between 1916 and 1946. Main blade stamped Schrade Cut Co Walden, NY and the small pen blade is marked with three patent dates, 1909, 10 & 16. The large blade has numbers etched on the backside: 52 over 175. I've seen this a few times and I believe that this was a salesman's sample knife. The knife is in EX+ condition with full blades that have nearly all of the original factory finish under a light patina. The beautiful Marine Pearl celluloid scales are in beautiful condition with no cracks or chips. The knife works perfectly with both blades blade tips seating well, open fully and tight lockup on the file blade and a little up and down on the main blade. No kickback.

This knife will be featured in my next book and comes with a laminated certificate of authenticity to identify it as an actual book knife. Really nice old salesman's sample of a true gentleman's switchblade from the early 20th century made here in the USA.
