This is a Remington R645 bowtie switchblade with candystripe celluloid scales (handles). The knife was made under contract by the Geo Schrade Knife Co of Bridgeport, CT sometime between 1938 and 1943. It measures 4 inches closed and just over 7 inches open with brass liners. The blade is stamped Remington with a line under it on the front and R645 on the rear. The blade has been sharpened some, but still 95% full  with some light scratches. The Candystripe scales are in good condition, but the back scale is showing some internal cracking in a couple of spots and will likely keep breaking down over time. The knife works good with the blade tip peeking about 3/16" above the liners when closed, opens fully with average lockup (approx 1/8" up and down) no rattle. Decent working example of a hard-to-find and very popular with collectors, switchblade.
