GUYONNEAU CHATELLERAULT INOX 20cm Italian Transitional swivel bolster automatic knife made for a French retailer in the 1960s or 70s. Ernest Guyonneau started his cutlery business in 1920 in Vienne France and contracted an Italian knife maker in the 1960s or 1970s to make some switchblades for his company. This knife measures 20.2cm (7 15/15 inches) open and 4 3/8 inches closed with D Stamped brass liners and nickel silver bolsters, button & safety cap. The flat swedge blade is 97% full or better with original finish and scratches/grind marks along the edge from sharpening. The ricasso is stamped GUYONNEAU CHATELLERAULT and the reverse is stamped INOX inside an oval. The genuine horn scales (handles) are in very nice condition and mostly black with some green. The knife works well with blade tip deep & centered closed, good snap and excellent lockup open. Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. Safety works. EX- condition.
