Hammer Brand Imperial Toothpick Cracked Ice w/ finger guards switchblade

Vintage Hammer Brand toothpick with finger guards made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, RI in the 1950s. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 3/8 inches open with STEEL liners, button and safety. The blade is stamped Hammer Brand USA with picture of an arm holding a hammer on the front and PAT NOS over two patent numbers on the back ending in 37 & 82.  The blade is 95% full with light patina, light spotting and some light scratches. This is the less common version with finger guards. The scales are hollow steel wrapped in Faux pearl (cracked ice) celluloid and are in very good condition. The knife works well with blade tip sitting even with the liners when closed, opens strong and locks open with about 3/16" up and down and a little side to side. Rattles if shaken when open. Safety does not work. VG condition.
