Aerial AC MFG Co Marinette, WIS Bone switchblade

This is a reproduction of the automatic knives sold by the Aerial Cutlery Manufacturing Co of Marinette, Wi in the 1920s and 30s. These knives were made in the early 1980s in Kentucky based on an original Aerial knife. Since the original Aerial knives are So hard to find, collectors have accepted these great quality reproductions into their vintage switchblade collections. The knife measures 4 5/8" closed and 8 inches open and has brass liners. The saber grind blade is stamped AC MFG CO MARINETTE, WIS and PAT OCT 23, 1916 on the rear of the tang. The knife has seen some use, but the blade is nearly full with some light patina and has been sharpened a bit. It was also cleaned at one point and the grind line on the backside of the blade is a little wavy, but overall a decent blade. The jigged bone scales are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep, good snap and good lockup open. The knife is opened buy pivoting the release lever with your thumb, pushing it forward. Same motion to release the blade to close. Beautiful vintage American made bone handled switchblade.
