33cm Italian picklock from the 1950s. It is sterile, meaning that it never had a maker's mark, or importer stamped on the tang. These 50's picklock knives are very well made with brass liners, German silver bolsters, button and safety cap, and it has D stamped liners. This knife is extra heavy with 5mm wide backspring! The name picklock refers to how the knife is closed. You pick (lift) the locking tab with your thumbnail to release the blade to be closed. This knife has a very full blade that sits centered in the well. The blade has patina from age and some light scratches. The blade tip seats below the liners, good snap and good lockup open. The horn scales are dark, basically black with hint of color on the back scale. Scales are in good condition with some light scuffs from handling over the years. Safety works. Nice old 13 inch 1950s Italian picklock!
