Colonial Knife Co made Shur Snap bowtie switchblade. This is an early model made before 1955 in Providence, RI. We can date it by the characteristics of small domed button and bolsters. The blade is stamped SHUR-SNAP COLONIAL PROV USA. This knife measures 4 inches closed and 7.25 inches open with brass liners. The blade is mostly full and shiny with some pitting, but nice overall. The scales are Barber shop Red/white striped and are in vg condition with minimal shrinkage near bottom bolsters. The knife works well, tip below liners, good snap and average lockup for a knife like this that has seen use over the past 70 years. Some movement each way, but it does lock and safety does work with approx 3/16" at the tip. This is original factory painted scales.
