Edgemaster fishtail with Blue Sparkle synthetic scales made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 40s, or early 1950s. This knife was designated the model #301 and measures 4 inches closed and 7 1/8" open with brass liners. The blade is nearly full with some spotting, peppering and patina and is stamped Edgemaster USA. The Blue Sparkle scales are in great condition with minimal shrinkage. The knife functions good with blade tip seating deep, good snap and stays open with some movement each way, but doesn't actually lock. It seems to lock, but will close if you put pressure on it without pressing the button. The knife does rattle if shaken when open as most of these old 50s American switchblades do that have been used over the years. The safety does not work, but many didn't work properly when new.
