Edgemaster fishtail with Red sparkle synthetic scales made by the Federal Knife Co of Providence, RI in the late 40s, or early 1950s. This knife was designated the model #301 and measures 4 inches closed and 7 1/8" open with brass liners. The blade is 95% full and shiny with a lot of tiny pepper spots and is stamped Edgemaster USA. The bright Red sparkly scales are in good condition with some shrinkage. The button has some pitting and the spring has been replaced. The knife functions good with blade tip seating deep, good snap and locks open with some movement each way with approx 1/4" up and down. The knife does not rattle if shaken when open as most of these old 50s American switchblades do that have been used over the years. The safety works. Overall a nice working example of a 50s vintage American made fishtail switchblade.
