The really COOL thing about this knife is you can see most of the original Boy Scout acid etch on the blade! Pretty easy to make out most of SCOUTS \u0026amp; AMERICA as well as most of the Boy Scout insignia with EAGLE and a couple of letters to the left of that if you look very closely. The rest of the original etch is hiding under age\/patina and not sure if it can be uncovered without removing parts of the fragile etch. There is NO DOUBT that this is an original PRESTO Boy Scout knife! The original etch reads: BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA with the scout symbol in the middle as you can see in the last picture which is from a different knife to show what the etch looked like originally. This is a REAL DEAL Boy Scout switchblade knife from the 1940s! 100% Guaranteed!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe knife measures 4 1\/8 inches closed and 7 1\/16 inches open with steel liners, bolsters, button \u0026amp; nickel silver lanyard ring \u0026amp; safety. The clip blade is mostly full at about 98% with heavy patina and some spotting and a tiny bit of the tip was broken off. The tang is stamped PRESTO MADE IN USA and the reverse is stamped GEO SCHRADE BRIDGEPORT, CONN. The jigged bone scales are in good condition. The knife works well with the blade tip deep and centered in the well, opens fully and good lockup with about 1\/8\" up and down at the tip. This is basically the same knife as the M2 Paratrooper made by Presto for the US military during WWII, but those did not have any etches on the blades. Safety works.
